 Read Siam Supper Club Story

Beyond a plain and unrevealing fa?ade is the very classy, Sean Power's owned, Siam Supper Club. It's not the type of club with a sign in book and a constitution, but, to Phuket's wealthy and well known elite as well as the visiting rich and famous, it is a place to call their own, their local, their club to wine, dine and entertain guests and friends.


Opened in 2002 the then much smaller Siam Supper Club, driven by Sean's talent and vision, quickly found the formula for success and expanded to four times its original size. Will it continue to grow? Time will tell but certainly its popularity continues to grow as the word keeps spreading.


Once inside the Club, the sounds of Phuket are replaced with the tunes of Jazz's finest players, soothing and toe tapping, but still only a tease of what is yet to come. Sean's own creation, the interior design, is amongst the finest you will see in Phuket with high quality and great style dominating every view. Recessed timber ceilings and panelled walls add a natural feel to the space while the huge, centrepiece, black marble bar, adds a focus and timeless richness. Dimly lit mirrored walls behind the bar reflect an extensive and exclusive range of drinks, adding a myriad of colour to the scene.


The welcoming atmosphere is created with subdued lighting and candle lit tables, dotted around are carefully selected pieces of furniture displaying bric a brac and other art. On every wall and column are framed black and white photographs, bringing back memories of James Dean, Elvis, Sinatra and Dean Martin, the Fab Four, Marilyn and many of the Jazz world's best. A great location and magnificent atmosphere are nothing without a special team to connect it all together. The cook, Australian Andrew Cole, was found by Sean walking around the streets of Bangkok, after a chat it didn't take Sean long to realise that this was the cook he needed and made Andrew an offer he couldn't refuse.


Andrews's background was preparing Ethnic style food around Sydney's restaurants. Now, when you dine at the Supper Club you are guaranteed never to go home hungry or unimpressed.


Young, immaculately dressed Benedikt De Bellis is the Director of Operations who manages the Clubs day to day business, allowing Sean to be host and leisurely reacquaint with old friends or meet new guests.


Benedikt speaks four languages fluently and were it not for the freezing cold English winters he may still be working as head waiter at the world famous Ritz Hotel in London. And yes, he has waited on members of the British Royal family as well as countless stars and celebrities. On a quiet night maybe you can ask him about some of his experiences.


Benedikt the Sommelier is keeper of the wine cellar and the expert wine adviser when choices become difficult, marvel at his style as he removes the cork for your sampling taste.


Sean Power, the Siam Supper Club, and his great team have indeed given the beautiful tropical Island of Phuket a special and very classy venue, a place dedicated to the discerning local and visiting connoisseurs of fine food, fun and excellent wine.
